WHAT IS PHYSICAL EDUCATION?
First to define what Physical Education is not:
*Letting students go out and run or jump around on the playground is not Physical Education & throwing a ball to a class and letting them play is not Physical Education.

These two mentioned above are called RECESS

Physical Education is the educating and development of students physically, mentally and socially. Physically through the use of fitness exercises, mentally by teaching the why, and rules, and regulations of different activities, socially by having students work in groups during team activities to achieve a common goal.

If you were asked to define Physical Education surely your answer would be based on perhaps how your Physical Education class was taught or weather you had good or bad experiences in your P E classes, and even what you think it should be now that you're older.

According to the Alabama Physical Education Course of Study, Daily Physical Education Classes for all students is a requirement for grades K- 8; no exceptions, no substitutions. A minimum daily instructional period of at least 30 minutes is required in elementary physical education as well.

We would like to say that, "we understand what it means to be in the classroom as well as the gym."
